Jodi grew up with a love for dance and gymnastics. Throughout her young adult years, she found joy teaching children's gymnastics. As an adult, she began to practice yoga to help relieve and prevent back pain caused by scoliosis. After leaving a career in the corporate world, she decided to return to her passion for teaching, and share her love for yoga. She became a 500-hr. Registered Yoga Teacher, RYT-500, teaching both Hatha and Vinyasa styles. In addition, she began teaching Mat Pilates, Barre, and fitness classes incorporating TRX. With an interest in Reformer Pilates, she found a home at Club Pilates. Soon after, she began their Teacher Training program to receive her 500-hr comprehensive Pilates certification. She is Barre Beyond certified, and has attended Club Pilates’ TRX and Trigger Point Workshops. She believes Pilates is a lifetime practice that strengthens muscle imbalances that can help every”BODY” heal and prevent injuries, stand taller and feel better. Like yoga, Pilates is beneficial in also offering a mind and body connection. With a love for learning, she is dedicated to continued development of her skills; reading, attending many workshops and other educational programs, and of course, always being a student.
Lorri’s love of Pilates began when she started taking mat classes in 2006 while living overseas in Cyprus. The precise, controlled movements reminded her of her ballet training growing up. In 2008 after moving to Arizona, she decided to turn her love of fitness into a job so that she could work around her family’s schedule and definitely not sit at a desk again! She sought out Pilates mat training with Power Pilates in Dallas and completed intermediate mat training before the year ended. She taught Pilates mat classes in a gym for awhile then decided to teach out of her house. For the next 4 years, she taught group and private mat classes at her house as well as other places in the community. She continued to build her knowledge of Pilates through yearly conferences with Power Pilates and Balanced Body, classes and workshops on Pilates Anytime, and researching on the internet. During that time she also earned her Group Fitness Certification through American Council on Exercise. After moving to Virginia in 2014, she decided to pursue her Pilates training further and complete her Comprehensive training through Power Pilates. She taught mat classes at a boutique fitness studio and at a Pilates studio during this time. While going through the training, she Apprenticed at Loudoun Pilates and eventually worked as a fully Certified Pilates Instructor.
